On Sunday, September 22nd, we started our journey to Ireland in Zwettl at 2am. We took a bus to the airport in Vienna and flew to Amsterdam and arrived in Dublin in the afternoon. Our host parents picked us up from the school in Bray.

Next morning we went to school and got divided into four groups. With our teachers we played some funny games. In the afternoon we went to Dublin by train – called  DART –  and saw some famous sights like Molly Malone, Oscar Wilde or the Spire.

On Tuesday we woke up to beautiful weather and had a normal but funny school day. After our lunch we went to Dublin again and visited the Jeanie Johnston. That’s a famous ship from the time of the Great Famine.

On Wednesday afternoon we went to Glendalough by bus. It was a very rainy day and we all got wet. Deer ran between the graves and we also saw the famous cross. If you can hug this cross with your hands touching, you’ll get good luck.

On our fifth day we went to Dublin by DART again. There we visited “Dublinia” and “Christ Church”. After that we were allowed to go shopping in Henry Street.

On Friday we walked on Bray Head. When we reached the top it was very windy but we had an amazing view.

On our last day we had a full day trip. In the morning we visited Wicklow Gaol (a famous old prison) by bus. Later on this day we went to Killkenny castle and we saw seals in the sea.

On Sunday morning we stated our journey back home and arrived in Zwettl at about 1 am.
